Member Spotlight: South Mesa Water Company

South Mesa Water Company, led by CalMutuals Vice President Dave Armstrong, received a $10.2 million grant through the SAFER Fund to consolidate with the nearby Hillcrest Mobile Home Park and to help enhance the system’s reliability.

The consolidation ensures access to clean drinking water for a primarily elderly community by addressing its fire flow capacity and nitrate contamination.

The grant also includes replacing 24,000 feet of water lines, installing a new well, and connecting the Calimesa Basin to the State Water Project, diversifying regional water supply.
